What is WATER BAPTISM?
Water baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus' command. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. If you have not yet followed the Lord in obedience by being baptized, please give this prayerful consideration. You will experience victory & joy that only comes through following the Master.
Water baptism is also a matter of outwardly identifying with the atoning work of Jesus (Rom. 6:3-6). It is not equivalent to joining the church and it does not obligate a person to become a member. It is, however, the prescribed way in which we personally and publicly declare our identification with Christ.

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." -Matt. 28:19

Who should be Baptized? Born again believers should be baptized. You must have experienced personal conversion through repentance and faith in Christ, We suggest that children be at least 12 years of age to be baptized. This helps to ensure that the candidate for baptism is mature enough to understand the spiritual significance of baptism. Also it is important that baptism be regarded seriously since it is intended to be a once in a lifetime experience.
What is the significance of Water Baptism? 1. Obedience . . . to the command of Christ. (Matt. 28:19)
2. Identification
. . . with the work of Christ, (Rom. 6:3-1 1)
Who is eligible to be Baptized? The divine order is simple: Anyone who repents (Mark 1:15: Acts 2:38) and believes (Matt. 28:19, Mark 16:16) should be baptized.
Is Baptism necessary for salvation? The Bible is clear that we are not saved by works but by faith (Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:3-7).
Note: In Mark 16:16 the only basis for condemnation is the lack of belief, not the lack of baptism.
Remember: In Luke 23:42,43 - Salvation was assured to the repentant thief without water baptism.
What is the Biblical method? The Bible uses the word "baptize" to describe this sacred ordinance. By definition, the term means "immerse." Therefore, the method of baptism is defined by the word used.
Ask Yourself: As an adult believer, have I been baptized (immersed) in water since I have repented and believed? If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 781-321-2121.
