'Secret Sister' at North Shore Assembly of God
The term “Secret Sister” has much more meaning than you might realize; in fact, women are our spiritual sisters. We have a responsibility to care for, pray for, and seek God's blessing for one another.
We began Secret Sister's on January 16, 2010. What a delightful time shared and full with laughter at our reveal time on Sunday May 16th (at the BeeBe Estates in Melrose). What a joy it was when we discovered who has been pouring prayers and encouragement into our lives over the past few months.
Thank you Jean and Linda (from BeeBe Estates) for your kind support and cooperation. It was greatly appreciated. God bless you both!

All of the ladies of North Shore Assembly of God are invited to participate in this ministry of caring and sharing with other sisters in Christ. Further details will be coming soon! Here's what to expect!
You will each be given a ‘sister’ that you will need to pray for and encourage. It is wonderful to have someone that prays for you daily and is there to send you an encouraging note from time to time. We’ll be keeping our ‘sister’s a secret; so don’t let anyone know who you have. Of course it may be fun for you to guess as we go along. At our next Women's Event (in May) we will reveal our ‘sisters’.
What are Your Responsibilities if you participate as a 'Secret Sister?'
1. Know that it is a commitment. The sister you are assigned will be expecting you to uphold her in your prayers and she should be able to rely on you for encouragement.
2. Pray daily for your sister. Get to know her needs and her family’s needs so that you may pray specifically for them.
3. Make an effort to get to know your sister. Discover the likes and dislikes of your sister. Know her favorites. The 'All about Me' form should help you.
4. Be an encouragement to your sister. Send her cards or notes of encouragement.
5. Remember your sister on her special occasions. Don’t forget to send cards for her birthday and anniversary or special landmarks in your sister’s life. (Valentines Day, Saint Patrick's Day, Easter, etc.)
6. Keep it a secret! Don’t let anyone know whom you have. Leave your cards or notes when no one is around.
7. If you are unable to continue as a Secret Sister, contact Patti Antin or Cheryl Auterio. We will find someone else to continue to pray for and bless her.
Guidelines: ♥Purchased gift giving is not recommended but if you choose to please keep it under $15. Food gifts, candy, and homemade goodies are great ideas. ♥If you have a delivery please come to the front foyer. Patti or Cheryl are available to deliver your gift of encouragement. ♥Make sure you contact your sister by means of a note or card at least once a month. ♥All ladies that attend NSAG may join the program at any time. Secret sisters are waiting to be matched with you.
Above all, have fun and enjoy getting to know all your sisters at church! You can be the instrument that God has placed in someone’s life for encouragement they need right when they need it. “A word spoken in due season, how good it is!” Proverbs 15:23.
Praying daily will strengthen you as well as your 'secret sister' and the rewards can be immeasurable. If you are interested in participating in the next Secret Sister ministry, you may click here to print the Secret Sister "All about Me" form and return to Cheryl Auterio (in the front reception area). Or, you may request an "All about Me" form to complete by emailing women@northshoreag.org. You will then be contacted with your secret sister’s information.

Praying for Your Secret Sister
Praying daily for your secret sister is the heart of this ministry. And you might ask how do I pray for someone if I cant reveal my identity to the person? How will I know what concerns she has, or what she is facing? The answer gloriously is to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your prayers. You will be amazed at the insight God gives as you pray. You will be amazed at the "chance" encounters you have with your secret sister.
You also can pray Scripture for your secret sister. Here are some promises in the Bible that are asked for all women.
"Lord, I pray that out of the glorious richness of your resources you will enable my sister to know the strength of the Spirit's inner re-enforcement--that Christ may actually live in her heart by faith." (Ephesians 4:17)
Father, remind my sister today that we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Refresh her today God so that she won't get discouraged or give up. (Galatians 6:9)
Father, God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would please give my sister the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that she might know you better today. (Ephesians 1:17)
